Wedding DIY – {OOT} Out of Town Bags

This post is a long time coming (literally almost a year old).

I had good intentions in showing all the DIY projects I did for our wedding, but my schedule got busy and life moved on.

The last few months, I received a few requests for the key holder templates that I posted here. It made me realize that I still have a few projects that I haven’t posted.

So, I’ve talked about the Out of Town bags we stuffed in a very large luggage that we gave to all our guests when they arrived in Puerto Vallarta.

I had a great time finding fun things to put in these bags.

Each bag included a souvenir shirt and hat, which I was happy to see our guests used during our stay. All of these were designed, customized and printed on Vistaprint.com

A word search game to use while lounging at the pool.

A pen and notepad to take notes of all their favorite drinks🙂

There was also a Do Not Disturb sign to be used the night of the wedding.

And one important item was also included….First Aid Kit, but we called it “Wedding Survival Kit”.

This is the final package. See below for the step-by-step on how I made it.

I bought these mini First Aid Kits (bought at Target’s travel section).

I removed the original label and replaced it with the labels picture below. I printed them on sticker paper. (Leave a comment if you want the template)

I added additional band-aids to each kit.

I also added individual packets of Tylenol, Motrin, Pepto Bismol and more sanitizing wipes.  I purchased these at Staples along the classroom aisle. These were used by our guests, for hangovers, sunburns and minor tummy aches.

Because you can never have enough sanitizer, I also included mini hand sanitizer. I covered the original labels with a sticker that says “Share the Love, Not the Germs”.

I put all the items in a medium size sandwich bag, sealed it and then put a custom label below. They were printed on card stock, folded and stapled together.

I love being crafty so I enjoyed this project a lot. It was fun preparing for the wedding and I have great memories working on the DIY stuff.

If you need any of the templates above, email me or leave a comment and I’ll be more than happy to send you the templates.
